Andrew Butler - Amvic ICF

Amvic ICF is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Butler as its Senior Technical Manager. In this role, Andrew will oversee the development of industry-leading technical resources and ensure that Amvic’s systems consistently meet and exceed compliance standards, including NSAI and BBA Agrément Certification.

A Career Built on Expertise and Innovation

In taking on this role, Andrew will draw on over 25 years of expertise in reinforced concrete design across the housing, commercial, education, and civil engineering sectors, as well as a Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Dublin Institute of Technology at Bolton Street. Perhaps most relevantly, he will draw on a speciality in ensuring the use of expanded polystyrene (EPS), core to Amvic’s signature ICF solution, remains compliant even as it aids in the streamlining of construction, something he attained during his eleven-year tenure at KORE Insulation.

A Vision for Transforming Construction

“The more than a decade I’ve spent working with EPS and reinforced concrete has given me a clear understanding of how materials like ICF remain compliant even as they transform construction through reduced timelines and improved energy efficiency,” says Andrew.

“With Ireland currently facing so painful a housing crisis, there’s an urgent need for builders and designers to embrace compliant, durable, and sustainable solutions that nevertheless enable faster and more efficient builds, something Amvic’s best-in-class ICF technology primely positions it to achieve.”

Elevating Amvic’s Commitment to Excellence

In this sense, Andrew’s leadership will be pivotal in ensuring Amvic, as the only ICF manufacturer in Ireland and the UK with a published Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), remains an integral and trusted solution to labour shortages, capable as it is of streamlining construction processes by up to 50%. In doing so, Andrew will play a key role in the publication of industry-leading reports on all aspects of ICF and its thermal, structure, fire, and embodied carbon performance by providing up-to-date CAD details along with a suite of BIM models in line with the 2030 RIAI Embodied Carbon targets and other expected legislation changes.

A Strategic Addition to Amvic’s Leadership

Andrew Butler’s appointment, therefore, marks a significant step in Amvic ICF’s commitment to providing practical and sustainable solutions to the construction industry’s challenges. With his technical expertise and hands-on experience, Andrew is well-positioned to drive the development of innovative resources that meet industry demands while addressing pressing issues like housing shortages and sustainability goals. To this end, his leadership will ensure Amvic continues to deliver high-performance ICF systems that are both efficient and environmentally responsible.
